While filing my 1098T for school, my state (MI) didn't appear in the dropdown box so I'd have to mark the box as me basically doing school out of state, which I didn't.

Maine appeared twice, Michigan would've appeared in one the spots that Maine did, but if I press where Michigan would've been, it still says a different state. My MI taxes would think I'm out of state and I need help.

I have never heard of that error.

I suggest you delete that 1098-T clear cache and cookies

and re-enter the 1098-T

To Delete:
For TurboTax Desktop, switch to Forms (Upper right corner)

TurboTax Online:
Select Tax Tools on the left side-bar
Select Tools from that drop-down
Select “Delete a form” on the TOOLS CENTER screen
Select the Form 1098-T
