TurboTax is trying to help you get an education credit that will reduce your taxes. Here's a TurboTax article with more information about these credits.

Sometimes the credit is not worth the upgrade fee.  In this case, you should either answer "no" to being a student or remove the 1098-T.

To clear the calculations,  try deleting the 1098-T form.

How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?

  • Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
  • In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
  • In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
  • Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.

You can also education credits in the search box.  Jump to the education credits and delete the information.
