Why do I need to upgrade to TurboTax Deluxe when i deduct the interest i paid on student loans using form 1098-E?

The free/basic program does not support that form.

You can try using IRS Free Fie instead, but then you won't have a copy of your 2020 tax return in your TurboTax account. 

If you go this route, be sure to save a copy of your tax return so that you can look up your AGI when filing for 2021 next year.

So weird. H&R supported this form and was still free. Ended up filing through them instead. Saved me $110
