Why does being a full time student for 5-months make me ineligible for the Earned Income Credit?

Being a full-time student for five months does not disqualify you from the earned income credit by itself- there must be another qualification you do or do not meet.  Can you be claimed as a dependent?  What is your age?  (You must be over 25) Do you have earned income?  

 

Try going through the IRS EITC Qualification Assistant- it will give you details on why you did not qualify.
