Question

Why does my expense and scholarships show the wrong school? I entered the correct information, but it shows my husband's previous school.

My husband and I have both recently attended school. He finished up at the end of 2020, so it is only me to claim for the 2021 school expenses. I completed the 1098-t box correctly, but it sill pulls his school through on the summary, not mine. I deleted it and started over, and still the same. Is there some way to fix that

If you enter the wrong student, you'll have to delete all the info and start over. Go through the entire education interview until you reach a screen titled "Your Education Expenses Summary".  Click delete next to the student's name.  You'll then get the "Your Education Expenses Summary" screen again.  Click the "Add a student" button.

I didn't enter the wrong student. I only entered myself. I did already try deleting and starting over, and it still pulls his information from last year, that I never entered this year in any shape or form as he finished school in 2020 and I was the only one in school 2021.

Go through the entire education expenses section of your return until you reach the screen titled “Your Education Expenses Summary”, then follow these steps:

  • Click Edit next to the student name.
  • On the screen titled “Here’s your Education Summary”, click Delete beside Tuition.
  • On the next screen "Here's your education summary", click "Add new school"
