Question

Why is my refund diminishing when I add a second child's college tuition? Even when the scholarships do not exceed the costs?

I added my daughter's 1098-T and received $900 towards my refund but when I add my son's 1098-T it decreases my refund even though his scholarships do not outweigh his expenses. And when I delete my daughters file and add my son's he gets the $900 refund and when I add hers second and it gives me $0. Can I not claim two 1098-T?

That Refund-O-Meter means absolutely nothing in any way, shape form or fashion until you have completed your tax return in it's entirety and are ready to file. That number will be "all" "over" "the" "place" while you are completing the return. The program can only work with the information it has *at* *this* *exact* *specific* *second* *in* *time*. So until you have everything entered and are ready to file, that number means nothing in any way, shape form or fashion. I *WILL* be all over the place until then.
