I get Error code 35 when trying to submit taxes for my mother. She passed away Feb. 2022. I am filing for 2021 taxes...does her being deceased now mean I can't e-file?

Mom passed this year (2022) before we did her taxes for last year (2021). Can we e-file her taxes for 2022?

TurboTax uses NETFILE, which is a service provided by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) that let individual taxpayers file their returns online. This TurboTax FAQ has more information on NETFILE vs EFILE: What is the difference between NETFILE and EFILE?

Unfortunately, you can’t NETFILE a return for someone who has passed away in 2021 or 2022. You will need to print out and mail your partner’s return.
