TurboTax 2024 – Update Issue & Incorrect CPP Overpayment

I just downloaded TurboTax 2024, but I'm having trouble updating it. Additionally, when I enter my T4s, all the CPP contributions I made for the year are being flagged as an overpayment, which is incorrect. This makes it seem like I'm getting a much larger refund than I should.

If you're having problems updating TurboTax Desktop, you can re-download the installer and run it again. This should update the software. You can download the current version of TurboTax Desktop edition here: Choose the current TurboTax Desktop edition you need (for Windows). You also would want to make sure that there is no anti-malware or firewall software blocking TurboTax from connecting to the update server.

For your CPP issue, please make sure that everything is filed out on your T4 slip ex: Box 10 (province), Box 26 (pensionable earnings)...
