Question
Long story short…my husband passed away in December. We had health insurance through the marketplace because we were fortunate to be able to retire at age 50.
I received two 1095-As because he passed away in December. When I called them to notify them of this death and to update my insurance for 2025 marketplace changed our December insurance to cover him up to December 9th (his passing date) and put me on my own insurance for the rest of December.
The 1095-A which shows just my coverage for December has zero in column B and C. Which I assume means I am paying full price for my insurance since I no longer qualify for the credit due to my income now that i am single (probably time to find medical insurance outside of marketplace). I already entered all the information into TurboTax from the 1095-A that includes us both but It is my understanding that I do not need to include this second form on my taxes because column B and C are zero. Am I understanding this correctly? Also when I do try to enter that second 1095-A it comes back during the review process saying I need to enter an amount in Column B.
