1095-a. why do i have to pay back all of my tax credit?

I understand that I am no longer eligible for a healthcare tact credit because I make more money now, but I only started making more money in the last few months of last year. Why do I need to pay back the credit for the whole year?

Because that is how the rules were written ... it is based off your annual income.  When your income increased you were supposed to alert the ACA so the advance credit could have been reduced. 

Want it to change complain to your congress person.

I started a job mid-year and stopped receiving health benefits immediately, but I still have to pay some of it back.
