The state also asking the same why my 1099B upload did not apply to State. why asking me to enter the Cost to Adjusted Basis again for the State?  I don't know what number to enter so many cost or adjected Basis numbers in my 1099B.

Please help!!!!!!

Take a look at your printed version of the Form 1099-B from your brokerage account.  There must be one entry that does not include a cost or basis for the transaction.

When you determine which entry is missing the information, you may be able to enter the missing data through the error check process or you may need to go back to the Form 1099-B entry section and edit that particular transaction.  The error message should give you enough details about the transaction that you can find it again to edit the cost or basis field.

To go to the section where you can edit the Form 1099-B transactions, use the following steps:

  • On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
  • This opens a box where you can type in “1099-B” and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
  • The search results will give you an option to “Jump to 1099-B
  • Click on the blue “Jump to 1099-B” link
  • Click Edit beside the institution name
  • Click Edit beside the transaction that needs attention
