Any dividends received, even if reinvested, are taxable income unless they are part of your IRA pr 401(k) and there has been no distribution to you.

Dividends that are reinvested are purchasing more shares all of the time, track your cost of all shares you own including those purchased with reinvested dividends.  Again, if this is a retirement account it will all be taxed as such when any distribution occurs.

Please provide more details if you have additional questions and we can help.
