1099-Misc Box 15 - "Nonqualified Deferred Compensation" reporting

Hi, I received my 1099-Misc for deferred compensation. Box 1-14 are blank, and box 15 shows the accurate "Nonqualified Deferred Compensation" amount.

When I enter the amount in Box 15 in TurboTax, I receive a pop-up message saying " Box 15 nonqualified deferred compensation, Income under Section 409A on a nonqualified deferred compensation plan is unusual and the calculations for the additional tax and interest on this are not supported"

TurboTax does not handle your situation. It is described on page 16 of Tax situations TurboTax does not handle.

If you are using the desktop version, you may be able to override and work around it.
