When I received my 1099-MISC for Rent from my property management company they put the rent in box 3 instead of box 1. This past year they sold out to another property management company and are dragging their feet to send me a corrected 1099-MISC with the rent paid in box 1.  as they are not in the business anymore. Can I just enter the amount on the 1099-Misc in box 1 instead of Box 3 on Turbotax. I am pushing them to give me a corrected 1099 but not having any luck.

Yes, put the income in the proper place on your return (i.e., as rental income).

If you do not receive a corrected 1099-MISC and are questioned, you can always explain the misclassification by the management company.
