It keeps telling me to check an entry for schedule c but I do not have any information for this section. I've deleted and re-entered my 1099 info multiple times. How can I get this fixed so I can e-file?

thank you

There are is more than one way to delete a form. To fully delete it, all related worksheets need to be deleted, too.

    Try these steps:

    • From the left menu, select Tax Tools.
    • Select Tools.
    • Select Delete a Form.
    • Scroll to Form 1099-NEC and delete the form and confirm the deletion.

Once that is completed, close your program. Close the browser. Re-open in Chrome.

From your question, it does not appear that you have income to report in this area. If you do, follow these steps to include the income in your Schedule C:

    • Re-enter the income by searching for schedule c and clicking the Jump to link
      • Add income for this work as Other self-employed income and Continue
      • Describe the Type of Income including any Form it was issued and the EIN and business name, if applicable.
      • Enter the Amount and click Continue
      • If there are no other adjustments, scroll down and select Done
      • Follow through the rest of the interview and select Done with Income.

Form 1099-NEC is a new form for non-employee compensation that replaces what used to be reported on Form 1099-MISC, Box 7 in the past. For more details, see What is Form 1099-NEC? If you were issued Form 1099-MISC, the issuer must be contacted to issue a corrected Form 1099-MISC with no income and issue Form 1099-NEC instead.
