1099 reporting

Hello.  I sold my parents house (which was in my name) and the title company had me sign a seller certification for 1099 reporting on the sale or exchange of residential real property.

I have not received a 1099 for the sale of my parents house.

I called the title company and they told me they entered the information in their portal and that's all they had to do.  Told me to call IRS.

I called IRS and they were not helpful except to tell me to put the information in my Turbo Tax return.

I don't know what to do as I do not have an official 1099 form.

Where do I add this information in Turbo Tax when I do not have a 1099 form?

Thanks

Susan

You will enter the sale of a second home in the "Investment" topic under the "Wages & Income" tab.  You do not have to have the 1099S as long as you have the sale/purchase information to report the sale in TurboTax.

    1. Click "Wages & Income"
    2. Scroll down to "Investments"
    3. "Show More"
    4. "Start/revisit' the "Stock, bonds...other (1099B)" topic
    5. "Yes"
    6. "Other"

After entering the broker info you will select "Second home" from the drop down menu and enter the applicable information.
