I sold stock that I received as part of my compensation package. I do I report this income.

    Like you would any other stock sale ... just make sure the basis reported is correct on the broker's form ... if it is not then make the change before filing... follow the screen/interview instructions. 

     

    Click on the following tabs: 

    • Federal Taxes
    • Wages & Income 
    • scroll down to Investment Income 
    • Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other
    • to the right of this category click Start or Revisit
    • follow the screen prompts and answer the questions to enter your information on Schedule D
