Hello,

I am trying to file my taxes but I received a rejection message saying the following

"When State1099G Line 10a StateAbbreviationCd is equal to IL, and the corresponding State1099G Line 11 StateTaxWithheldAmt is greater than zero, State1099G PayerEIN must be equal to the FEIN for the Illinois Department of Employment Security. Enter the information exactly as it appears on your 1099G. If State1099G Line 10a State is blank, use Payer state code."

I did not receive a Copy A of the 1099, but received a form letter marked as Copy B.

Use

36-3042127

for the Illinois Department of Employment Security Payer EIN / FEIN / Payer ID

Use the address on the letter and the Payer ID Kris gave you above (36-3042127). If there is no address on the letter, use:

Department of Employment Security
