2019 AGI Entered for myself and wife on an e-filed joint return - rejected by IRS

I tried to e-file my 2020 Federal taxes but the submission was rejected because the IRS didn't recognize my AGI.  I entered the same AGI  (the one the IRS has on file) as both my and my wife's AGI for 2019.  Am I doing this wrong?  Should I only enter mine and enter a zero for hers?  What does the IRS recognize as a match to my joint AGI so the e-file will be accepted?

Thank you.

If you filed a Joint return for 2019 you enter the same AGI for each of you.

When did you file 2019? If it was late in the year or you mailed it, try putting in 0 (zero) for the AGI. And see, https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/rejections/help/what-if-i-entered-the-correct-agi-and-i-m-still-getting-an-e-file-reject/00/27031

If you can’t get it to efile you will have to print and mail it.

Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them.  You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places.  Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.

I had to file by paper for 2019, and did before the May 15, 2020, deadline because the IRS website said my 2018 return was "in process" when I tried to e-file.  Earlier this year, my account on the IRS website had my 2018 transcript but said my 2019 (mailed) return was "in process".  My first attempt at e-filing my 2020 return was rejected.  Today my 2019 transcript is on the IRS site with the AGI I put in my 2020 TurboTax e-file and I refiled tonight.  Again, it was rejected with code:  IND-031-04.

I'm going to try to zero out the AGI and use the PIN(S) we had from our 2019 e-file attempt before I just give up and mail it.

    Thanks for your reply.
