2020 CA540 Line 98 does not transfer correctly to 2021 CA540 Tax Payments Worksheet Line 6

TT 2020 CA540 Line 98 (Amount of line 97 you want applied to your 2021 estimated tax) shows $5000, but on my 2021 CA540 Tax Payments Worksheet, Line 6 (Overpayments applied to 2021) shows only $3237. While I can override the amount, I suspect that there is an incorrect link that pulls data from the wrong place to fill in the Line 6 entry. Is this a known error or is there some intermediate step where I have made an error?

A text search of the PDF version of my complete 2020 tax return finds no instance of 3237, but did discover that in the CA540,

Line 97 is 5237

Line 98 is 5000

Line 99 is 237

So whoever looks at how this is coded might want to look at the arithmetic to see if some odd-ball mis-coding produces 3237 instead of 5000 at some point along the line.
