What happened to the $300 charitable deduction on Form 1040 when taking the standard deduction?

Congress eliminated that for 2022 tax returns.  Sorry.  You can enter charity donations on Schedule A if you have enough itemized deductions to exceed your standard deduction.

Followed up your remarks - seems that $300 deduction for charity when not itemizing was a law passed during the pandemic in 2020, set to expire for 2022 tax year. Since 9 out of 10 choose standard deduction - seems like a good way to recognize charitable giving. Oh well, government by the minority.
