Hello,

I have a question regarding the maximum allowed to be withdrawn in a given calendar year for K-12 tuition from a 529 Plan.  I see the annual limit of $10,000 cited frequently.  My question is does this $10,000 limit apply on a per beneficiary basis or an a per parent basis.  If my wife and I each have a separate 529 Plan with our son as the beneficiary, are we still capped at the $10,000 annual limit or does it become $20,000.

thank you!

    $20,000.

From IRS Pub 970 (page 51):

"Qualified Elementary and Secondary Education Expenses:
These are expenses for no more than $10,000 of tuition,
    incurred by a designated beneficiary"
