Question

A bank did not generate a 1099. Should I report $1k Interest. if I report it in 2024 return & bank issues a late 1099 for 2025 (send 2026), will I have to report again?

You can request your interest information from the bank.   You do not need a 1099, but you have to report the income.   If you don't report enough, you will have to amend to add what you did not report.   If you report too much, you can amend later, or pay more tax than you should pay.    If you have online access to your bank, the exact amount of your yearly interest should not be hard to find.
