Question

A Japanese based company has a Federal ID number on 1099-DIV that is all zeros. Turbotax will not accept it for e-file. Any ideas on how to get this to work?

    Some users have reported the income as a 1099-INT, which doesn't required an EIN, instead. A variety of solutions were shared in this thread. Recently, users have been entering 00-1111111 to resolve the error.
