About Coronavirus payment

We made the tax return with my friend to the same bank account. The coronavirus payment of the owner of the bank account alone was deposited into the account. We sent a change of address form for the other non-paid payment. There has been no activity for about 1 month. Can I follow this process? Will I get the exact payment? (I live outside of USA.)

We cannot tell you what will happen with your stimulus check.  TurboTax has no control over your stimulus check.  Assigning it to someone else's bank account was mistake that you should not ever make.  The bank will reject the deposit and send it back to the IRS.  Then the IRS mails a check to the address on your tax return.  But now you changed your address.  So it will depend on what happens with the IRS.  Mailed stuff is piled up at the IRS so there is no telling how long it will be until they open your change of address form.  Mail piled up in trailers for several months during the pandemic and they are starting to work on over 11 million envelopes.  Guess all you can do is wait and see if the IRS mails you a check.

You can call the IRS hotline at 1-800-919-9835 to get updates on your stimulus payment.

In general, you should never request a tax refund deposit into an account you don't own and that is not listed under your SSN.  Most of the time, the bank or the IRS will reject a direct deposit into an account that is not in your name.  This will also be true for the stimulus payments.  For expatriates, it is often convenient to keep open a small free back account in the US somewhere for reasons like this.

No one on this public forum or at Turbotax customer support can tell you anything about your IRS payments, since your interactions with the IRS are private.
