You need to enter your Form 1095-A you receive from the marketplace insurance exchange in TurboTax to generate Form 8962. You enter it in the Deductions and Credits section, then Medical, then Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A).

Yes. I did that on my tax return. Everything is good there.  However, the will not accept my daughter's return because they want a Form 8962.  If I put in all the 1095 A numbers it changes my daughter's return from getting a few hundred dollars back to thousands and that does not feel right to me.  Is that right???  I was think I just needed to add the Form 8962 and put the numbers in.  ???

If you claim 100% of your daughters insurance premiums on your tax return, enter the Form 1095-A on her return and check the box that indicates that she shared the policy with another taxpayer. Then , on the screen that says Since this is a shared policy, we need to know how to allocate the policy amounts, enter $0 for your premium percentage, Your SLCSP percentage and Your Advanced Payment of PTC percentage.
