I filed my daughter’s taxes and failed to check the box I will be filed on anther tax return. I filed my taxes and my taxes was rejected because my daughters SS numbers were used. I than amended my daughters taxes and checked the box that reads I can be claimed on another tax return. I can’t file my taxes until my daughter’s Admended taxes are complete. Do I just wait?
No do not wait. You have to print and mail your return this year even if she amends her return. Once a ssn has been used you can't efile it again.
How to mail a return from the Online version
Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.
