After filling my federal return, why was I not given the option to file my state tax return?

It sounds like you did not complete your state income tax return information in TurboTax.

You can go back to the state section of your return and complete it to e-file. Go to your tax bar in your TurboTax program and select "State".

It will look like this:

Then click on Continue.

Depending on your state and your tax situation you should be able to move forward in completing your state income tax return by selecting "Finish My State Taxes with TurboTax."
