Agricultural Payments - 1099-G - Farm or Farm Rental

I CAN'T BEGIN TO TELL YOU HOW FRUSTRATED I AM RIGHT NOW.  Been using Turbotax for probably 20 years and now it just won't work.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT TURBOTAX KEEPS GENERATING A SCHEDULE F AND CALCULATING SELF EMPLOYMENT TAXES for my farm income.

I received a couple of 1099-G forms for Agricultural Payments related to my Farm (share cropping).  I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem, but at the end of entering the 1099-G information, Turbotax asks if this is for "FARM" or "FARM RENTAL" - and I am never sure what Turbotax means when asking this question - suspecting one is tied to a Schedule F and the other to a Form 4835.

I have responded both ways, and no matter what, Turbotax insists on generating a Schedule F (as if I am a Farmer, as the farm is my source of income) - and generating a Self Employment Tax form along with the Schedule F.  What is going on.

Can anybody tell me which one to pick, GIVEN that I am share cropping and do not materially participate in the farm - which has always caused all of the farm income to be recorded on a Form 4835.  I have ALWAYS inputted the farm income in the Farm Income and Farm Rental section under Business Items.

I have inputted all of my farm stuff AT LEAST 6 or more times.  I have removed the Schedule F AT LEAST that many times also.  I think Turbotax has me or the farm input somehow marked so that it always generated a Schedule F marked as.

Can anybody help me out here.  Something is going on here that I do not understand.

    YES - SORRY - I FOUND IT!

DO NOT CHECK "I received income from operating a farm" at the beginning of the questions on Farm Income and Farm Expenses.

Either a newly worded question OR I am just getting old and senile for not knowing or remembering that question.  Please ignore my rant - Turbotax is now back on my good side.
