Alternating years I claim my dependent. Do I have to pay back the extra $1400?

Me and my son's mother alternate the years we claim him. I claimed him for 2020 so I received the third stimulus in early 2021 of $1400 for him. Do I have to pay that back when I file for 2021 since I cannot claim him?

No you do not have to pay it back.  But you do have to say on your return that you received that much.    And this time if his mom claims him for 2021 she gets it too.
