Question

Am I considered to have filed by the deadline if my e-filing is rejected?

My return was rejected, twice. My 2019 AGI is not matching what the IRS has on file. This may be because I filed my 2019 taxes so late (after October). I have tried again to e-file, using $0 as my 2019 AGI. So my filing status is pending. I don't know if I should just wait, or if I need to get my return mailed in asap so that the postmark will be the 17th.

I am not sure I am giving the right advice but I like to try to help.

I would, if I were you, print out your tax forms & get ready to send.  If this is still pending tomorrow you can still get it to the post office and get it marked by midnight.  At least you’ll have it done & ready to go.

Hope this helps.  GL.
