Question

Am I supposed to add my teenage daughter's W-2 income (less than $5,100) to my joint return (wife and me)?

How do you treat children W-2 forms?

No, you or she can file her own tax return with her w-2 to get a refund of any tax she paid.   Create an account for her and file a tax return with her W-2.   If there are any taxes withheld in Box 2, she will get a refund.   Make sure she marks the box that says Someone else can and will claim me.   You still claim her as a dependent on your return, but don't add her earned wages from her w-2.
