amended return

I amended my return hours after filing and now my refund is lower so Tax is asking me to pay the difference - what do I do?

for example

filing #1 = $2000 refund

filing #2 (a few hours later) = $1500 refund

turbo tax say I must pay the difference (or rather says I owe) of $500.

how do I fix this?

You should not file an Amended Return until you receive your Refund from your first return.

If you haven't already filed your Amended Return, don't do so until you receive your first Refund.

If you indicate in TurboTax that you will 'mail in a payment' you can do so after you receive your $2000 refund from your first return.

You have 3 years to file your Amended Return.
