AMENDING NJ TAX
I took standard deduction on federal return 2024. But didn’t see the option to add medical deduction on state return. Was it automatically added or do I have to amend state return & add it manually??

So if line 30 on state return is blank I need to amend & fill out the worksheet is that correct ??
Are you claimed by someone else? Line 30 is your personal exemption, so it shouldn't be blank. Are you unreimbursed medical expenses more than 2% of your NJ income? If not, that could be why you did not get the deduction.
When you amend, you will go back through the NJ return. You will come to a screen titled Any Medical Expenses? Answer Yes there. New Jersey allows you to deduct medical expenses in excess of 2% of your income (TurboTax will calculate and show the base amount). You should see the amounts on Worksheet F and on your NJ tax return, NJ-1040 line 31.
