Deduct the out of pocket medical expenses that you paid in 2016, in the medical section. Not the amount billed. To navigate to the section:

  • In your open return, select My Account
  • Tools
  • Topic Search
  • Type 'sch a, medical deductions' in the box, then select GO

Please review the following FAQ on what are qualifying medical expenses that can be deducted. There is also a link within this information to an IRS.gov page that list qualifying medical expenses that you can deduct.
