Question

Are there any tax benefits to unofficial childcare I pay for my foreign son?

Hi,

I pay about $600 a month to my 7 year old biological son who lives with his mother in Moscow.

I pay this voluntarily, so it isn't any sort of court determined action, and also I was never married to his mother. I just support him because it is the right thing to do. So I am just curious if there are any lesser known tax provisions that allow me to somehow receive a credit for these payments.

thanks,

Brian

No.  If you are not the custodial parent then you cannot get the childcare credit.  And there are no deductions for paying child support.
