Asking for 6 digit pin but did not file taxes last year

The 6 digit PIN is generally the IP PIN, which is your Identity Protection Pin.  If you are just walking through the return and came to that question, you can skip it and say no you do not have one.  If your return was rejected because you do not have one, then the IRS has issued you an IP PIN and you will need to follow the steps here to retrieve your pin
