Bought a house, mortgage interest question
Hi,
In 2024 we purchased a house with lender "A". A few weeks later, lender "A" sold it to lender "B". I got a 1098 from both lenders.
On the "Tell us about any points paid" screen in the Mortgage interest deduction section there is a checkbox for "I bought or improved my main home with this loan in 2024." I have it clicked for lender "A" but should I click it for lender "B"? Technically it is the same loan for lenders "A" and "B" but I didn't get it directly through lender "B".
