My w2 has an amount posted in it. when I did the final check it said I need to add info from lines 18-20. there's nothing there and turbo tax says that i should enter those lines.

what do i do?

Yes, you need to review your W-2 entry and either leave boxes 18, 19 and 20 blank or fill them in to match your W-2 copy.

To review your W-2 in TurboTax:

Select Federal on the left side menu.
Select Wages & Income.
Click Edit to the right of Job (W2).
Click Edit to the right of your W2 entry.
Click Continue.
Make your corrections on this page. If you have no local tax withheld, you can delete the entire row by clicking in the trash can icon. If you have some local tax withheld, make sure boxes 18, 19 and 20 are all filled out to match your W-2 copy.
