Box d is empty on my W-2, and program won’t let me advance without out

I think it was the same last year but don’t remember what I dod

I believe that box is optional. Just put in anything like 001. My W2 has my employee number.

A control number (box d) on your W-2 is not required by the IRS; it's for the convenience of your employer.

If you can, try to go to the W-2 input screen and just delete whatever entry is in the control number field.
