Bug: updating turbotax causes foreign tax credit to switch to deduction

After entering all information and filing late in the season using Turbotax 2021, simply opening the turbotax file since an update was applied causes the federal refund amount to change by a lot AFTER the file is opened. After looking in detail, the foreign taxes paid now shows up as an itemized deduction, instead of the standard deduction which was present at filing. Note: the foreign tax credit was previously taken. This likely means that a hybrid of the credit and deduction are reflected. If foreign tax credit is again selected in the personal:deductions&credit:foreign taxes questions, the situation is resolved. If the user were to file an amended return based on the new amount shown immediately after opening, problems would likely ensue. The same behavior is exhibited in 2020. Can you please fix this? I assume that the program is not incorrectly calculating the deduction at entry, based on questions asked at that time.

We can pass this issue along to the Moderators of this board who, in turn, can pass it on to the developers.
