Can both my partner and I claim head of household?

Long story short, my partner and I live together with our 2 kids. We split the bills. Additionally, there was a period of time this year when we separated, and I moved out and got my own place. We did end up reconciling and moving back in together for the remainder of 2022. Can we both claim head of household?

Technically no, you would not both be able to claim head of household as one of the criteria is that you pay more than half of the household expenses. If you are both paying half, then neither is paying more than half. If you allocate it any other way, only one of you could technically claim head of household.
