Question

Can I add an amount in Form 1040 Line 36 to apply to my 2025 estimated taxes if I owe in 2024?

No, if you owe money for 2024, you won't have an overpayment to apply to 2025.  However, you can make a quarter one estimated payment separately.

You can make an estimated payment online at eftps.gov or from your mobile device using the IRS2Go app. Alternatively, you can mail a check.  To do this, print vouchers and fill in as desired from the IRS 1040-ES; or use estimate vouchers in TurboTax .

That's what I figured. Just thought I might be able to save myself a step. Thank you.

However, you can pay estimated taxes and accomplish the same goal.

You can log into the IRS Payment Options Website
