Can I choose TurboTax Self-employed and switch to Turbotax Live if I need to?

This year I tried to start an online business. It was a bust. So, I have credit card bills and nothing else to show for it. No income at all. Must I use turbotaxlive?

No, you do not need to use Turbo Tax live, but you should use at least Turbo Tax Self-Employed to make sure you are getting all the deductions from your business. https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/

You can always opt to add Turbo Tax Live if you would like.
