If g-child has Medicaid (H-care) in LA and daughter gets $350/mth for child's food? If daughter not employed in 2017/ 2018? Ig g-child father has not claimed her on any tax filings and has provided $0 in 2017-2018?

Yes, if you are providing more than half of your daughter and grandchild's support since they are not making more than $4,150 you would be able to claim them as dependents.

Your grandchild may qualify for the $2,000 child tax credit as a qualifying child.  Your daughter, unless she is a student or under 19, will likely only qualify for the $500 Other Dependent Credit.

As you enter them on your return be sure to read and answer each question carefully.  TurboTax will give you the correct credits based on your answers.
