Can I claim even though someone claimed me in 2018.

Somebody claimed me in 2018. How do I go about claiming myself this year.

It depends.

As long you cannot be claimed as a dependent, you can adjust your input.

If you have not yet filed your return, you can make the change in the My Info section of the program.

Select Edit to the right of your name.
Scroll down to Section 3 and change you answer to no under Someone else can claim me as a dependent on their tax return.
