Can I claim my child this year and the other parent the next?

Non-Married.. We both equally take care of the child and are in verbal agreement.

as long as you are living together either parent can claim. if you're not, the custodial parent would have to furnish the non-custodial parent with form 8332 that the non-custodial parent would have to file (paper file) with their return.
