Question

Can I claim the recovery rebate even though my son’s father claimed him in 2019 and already collected the stimulus money?

We are not together and alternate claiming our son.

TurboTax will apply the Recovery Rebate when you go through the stimulus questions.  Since the credit is based off your 2020 income and dependents, you will qualify for it if your son is listed as a dependent on your return in 2020.   You will need to enter the amount of stimulus payments YOU received.  If the payments did not include an amount for your dependent, TurboTax will add it on Line 30 on your Form 1040.
