Now the SSI office is coming after me for not reporting this $1,850 Casino Jackpot. I had the Casino take out my federal taxes automatically and I walked away with $1,032 dollar's and now the SSI wants to know why I didn't report this to them this year? Also, The SSI wants to automatically deduct $83.00 dollars from my SSI check every month for at least the next twelve months. I can't believe this my friends.Should I file my taxes being on SSI Disability thinking I may have a chance of getting a refund for the $468.00 Dollars that I had the casino take From my total winnings that very same day for my federal taxes?

It is not clear whether you are receiving Social Security benefits or if you are getting SSI---those are not the same thing.   There are strict rules with SSI about how much money you can receive from other sources--so when you say "SSI" wants to know about your slot winnings--it makes me wonder which kind of benefits you are receiving.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS AND SSI?

If you are receiving Social Security benefits you will get a SSA1099 in January which can be entered on a tax return.   And then you will also enter the W-2G for the casino winnings to show the tax that was withheld.

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

To enter the W-2G  or other documents For your Gambling winnings--Go to Federal>Wages & Income>Less Common Income>Gambling Winnings

If you are actually receiving income from SSI, you will not receive a tax document from them at all.   But you can enter the W-2G on a tax return  to seek a refund of the tax withheld.

File  a tax return to get back any refund due to you.
