I started filling in my taxes online my laptop, then my laptop failed. I have the backup file. Can i continue filling in my taxes online?

@larrydavis1133 If you mean that you were using the desktop download software on the laptop that crashed, the tax return was only stored on your own hard drive. It is not stored online anywhere. So if you are unable to get to the file that was on that laptop, you will need to start over on the tax return.

If you have a new laptop, you can download the desktop software again to your new computer; the desktop download can be put on up to five computers that you own. But....sorry....the return you were working on is gone.

If you prepared your taxes Online, you can simply

Log in on any computer
Use your ID and Password that you used for the original return, and
Continue and file the tax return
